Project Timeline
Founded in May 2018, the Hope, Faith & Grace Community Project is a dynamic force within our community! Our passion lies in vibrant collaborations with fellow organizations, youth, networks, and schools. We’re all about igniting inspiration and creating job opportunities right here in our local area.
But that’s not all! We’ve taken action through outreach programs, aiding the homeless, and launching a school-based ministry. Our goal? To educate and empower youth to make life-changing, positive decisions. We’re here to make a real impact, and we’re excited about every step of this incredible journey!
We began offering free business, marketing, and Code Jika training, making it accessible to everyone, including the general public, schools, and colleges.
In addition, we created the HFG Youth Club as a safe space for young individuals to come together on Fridays and occasional weekends. This gathering provided a platform for them to engage in philanthropic activities alongside other organizations, enabling our youth to make heartfelt contributions to our community.
Unfortunately, the club had to suspend its operations in 2020 due to the challenging circumstances brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. We eagerly look forward to the day when we can resume these meaningful activities, guided by our deep commitment to fostering positive change with compassion.
We partnered with Yes SA networking, setting aside Thursdays to actively engage with our community. During these sessions, we welcomed local church pastors, representatives from community organizations, and small business owners, all with the shared purpose of nurturing collaboration and harmony among these groups.
Initiating training programs for young marketers, we simultaneously raised awareness and appealed for support to establish a youth center catering to young adults facing challenging circumstances. Identifying a suitable location, we undertook extensive renovations and prioritized compliance measures to ensure the space was suitable for accommodating and educating the youth.
In December 2021, we welcomed our inaugural group of young individuals from challenging backgrounds, including those from difficult home situations, streets, and foster homes. Seven members successfully completed our first year program and have applied their skills into their everyday lives.
In January 2023, we welcomed our second group of youth, adapting our program to a 2-year model to better meet their needs and provide more comprehensive training. This experience taught us valuable lessons, particularly given the unique challenges faced by many of our youth who come from foster care backgrounds. In response, we prioritized upgrading our security measures and made significant improvements to ensure the well-being and safety of all participants. Notably, we’ve separated boys and girls into distinct areas, fostering a comfortable and secure environment. Additionally, we’ve implemented an innovative approach using ‘Monopoly money’ to manage behavior and encourage positive habits. Building on these successes, our third group is now underway, and we’re thrilled to see the program’s positive impact continuing to grow.
